Shipping
Animals are shipped to your nearest major airport and have a reservation on specific flights just like people, you just pick them up right at the airport.
The health and well being of our animals is the most important thing here at Spruce Nubble Farm and the way we ship reflects that.
Shipping is very simple and we take care of all the details. Animals are packed very well to ensure that they are happy when they get to you.
In every box you'll find a temperature data logger with LED indicators. It is very simple for you when you open the container at the airport - if the light is green the animal was kept at proper temperatures. If you see a blinking red light there was a problem and you should note it before signing the airbill.
Generally speaking shipments are trouble free and we have shipped thousands of animals with no problems. |

SNF is an approved Delta shipper – shipper number
215807017.
Reptiles ship via Delta Dash to
your nearest airport. Shipping is either included in the price
or additional and this will be noted on the snake's page. Shipping
includes boxes, heat packs, etc.
Mammals ship via Delta for about $150, actual costs vary. This does not include kennels, boxes,
health certificates, etc. Many times multiple animals can be combined in one box
but there is a weight limit so you may incur multiple shipping
charges for multiple animals. Contact us if you'd like a specific
shipping quote. Mammals also require a veterinary health certificate before they can be shipped, the fee for this is $35 and should you desire it vaccinations, microchipping, and other veterinary services are available, just ask for detais.
If the temperatures where you live - or at any point along the route of the animal - are outside of acceptable ranges SNF will not ship. SNF reserves the right to make shipments when we feel comfortable with the conditions. While every effort will be made to ship quickly and accommodate your schedule the health and well being of the animals is our number one priority. In the very unlikely but possible circumstance that SNF is not able to ship for 60 days or more you may request that a refund be issued.
Please note that the live
arrival guarantee and insurance
is actually offered by Delta. This means you need to open your
box before leaving the airport to make sure the animal is alive.
Delta is not nice about processing claims after you have signed
for delivery and agreed that all was in good order.
We include temperature
data loggers with our shipments
along with a postage paid envelope to send them back to us
for analysis. You agree to mail us back any data logger sent
to you within one business day – we need it back quickly to
get the data from it - all you need to do is drop it in the
mail. Failure to return a data logger will result in us asking
you to pay for it.
In an effort to accommodate customers who are not able to
get to their nearest airport we will ship creatures via overnight
services. The fees to ship this way are the same as the Delta
fees. While we understand many folks in the industry do ship
this way we really don't like to do it, we are very concerned
that these carriers do not offer climate controlled transit
or insurance. Even those "Certified Reptile Shippers" have agreed to release the shipping company from any and all liability and the shipping company makes no special arrangements for live animals, they ship them like any other box. As a result if an animal is shipped in this method
all guarantees are void. If you really can't get to the airport
consider using a courier/cab service to get your creatures
the last few miles.
