This Papua New Guinea (PNG) female was born March 22, 1997 at the Staten Island Zoo and she is the only animal in our collection where we know who some of her great-grandparents are. Her dad was born at the Tulsa zoo in 1983 and his father and mother were both wild caught imports that the Tulsa Zoo acquired in 1978. Her mother was born at the Dallas Zoo in 1988 and her father was captive hatched at the Fort Worth Zoo in 1982; her mother was captive hatched at the Dallas Zoo in 1983. This girl's great grandparents on her mother's side were both imported by the Dallas Zoo in the 1970's - the female was noted to be blue. She is a very relaxed animal and she has an interesting ?defect? if you could call it that which is a strange area of discoloration on otherwise undamaged scales. An interesting note is that she was the mother of David Polur's Banana Girl, who unfortunately died egg bound. The female has produced many clutches for several different owner's over the years. She is past her prime, but would be a fantastic prospect for a hobby breeder who wants a proven female.
